In the North of France, in Condé-sur-l’Escaut, a district has been replaced by the forest. There are still traces of the Cité du Défriché, built in the 1950s to house miners and their families, such as a few lampposts, manholes and fire hydrants. We can also see the remains of a house and boxes maybe used as a stable.
